The 6th China Charming School Chorus Festival, which held by China Chorus Association, was held in Dalian from July 17 to 21. “The Smurfs” Choir from Zhongshan Experimental Primary School Number One Campus earned the 1st prize.

 This Chorus Festival held in People’s Culture Club of Dalian, totally 52 choirs with near 2,000 teenagers from 19 provinces and cities attended this contest. The judges team formed by many famous musicians as Li Peizhi, Wu Lingfen, Mo Yunhui, Zhang Xuan, Zhi yinwen, Qiu Xiaoxu, Chen Jiahai, etc. The China Charming School Chorus Festival had been held 5 sessions already, this festival aim to promote the development of quality education, increase the art education level, and light the enthusiasm of art among teenagers. This authoritative national contest already be famous in China.

Zhongshan Experimental Primary School Number One Campus was founded by Zhongshan Great Aim Property Co., Ltd. and Zhongshan Experimental Primary School on April 25th, 2004, and opened in September of this year. This school purpose to “be excellent school, cultivate excellence talents”, and has designed the “outsmart education” model and use “calligraphy art” as the characteristics of its education method. “The Smurfs” Choir is a team which is full of vitality and infinite potential, the choir still adhere to “music belongs to every child” since it founded ten years, children can find beauty, experience beauty, create beauty through singing, and comprehensively improve their artistic sentiment.

“The Smurfs” Choir used to win the top 3 prize in provincial and municipal chorus contest repeatedly, they won the golden prize at the Zhongshan Floating Population Children Chorus Contest in May, 2015. Chorus is a group of vocal art, not only can cultivate children what are the unity and cooperation, but also can make happiness to children through singing.

“The Smurfs” Choir sung two songs in this contest, which named and < I want to fly with you >,  < I want to fly with you > created by Zhongshan local composer Wang Xuan, this song represent that children pursuit their ideal, they looking forward to the future, to realize the dream with good wishes: just like a paper plane filled with the whole world, fly in the sky like angel. “The Smurfs” Choir fully demonstrated their singing and choral skills on the stage, their intonation and intensity of emotional expression are perfect. The melody attracted the audience from all over the country, and got the affirmation from the judges. This choir was invited to sing again by the organizing committee as the good performing team.

In the contest, Li Peizhi, the vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China Chorus Association, enthusiastically encourage children to redouble their efforts, and wish them can achieve more in the road of music. He said: “music makes our life beautiful, chorus makes us understand how to listen and cooperate with others. To activate children in art, can help them to be moral and inventive, it must has return in the future, also good for the future.” We believe that “The Smurfs” Choir will flying higher and higher with wind.
